Dr. George M. Rapier III is an American physician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist based in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he earned his medical degree from the University of Florida before completing his postgraduate training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In 1990, he founded WellMed Medical Management, which has since expanded into a leading primary care network serving Medicare patients across multiple states. His philosophy emphasizes proactive, preventive care rather than reactive treatment, especially for seniors. He also leads RapierMed, a consulting and investment firm focused on healthcare innovation and strategic partnerships. Throughout his career, he has held academic roles and received honors such as Physician Entrepreneur of the Year. Rapier is deeply involved in philanthropy, often working alongside his wife, Kym, through trusts and foundations that support education, senior care, homelessness prevention, and community health initiatives.
