Nicholas Petricca (born February 16, 1987) is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known as the founder and lead vocalist of the pop-rock band Walk the Moon. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he began his musical journey on piano and organ before studying music at Kenyon College, where Walk the Moon was first formed.

The band’s breakout came with “Anna Sun,” which quickly became an indie hit and established their vibrant, dance-infused sound. Their 2014 single “Shut Up and Dance” catapulted them to international fame, topping charts around the world and earning multi-platinum certification. Over the years, Petricca has guided Walk the Moon through several acclaimed albums, balancing pop hooks with introspective songwriting.
